  • Addiction Counselor

    tpeak@powerupperformance.org

My life experience teaches me that we are all in this together and everyone has something they would like to change, called issues. Being together, I want to be someone who can offer some help with what you want to change.

I offer to help with issues, to listen, to hear you in your words, and to offer some thoughts and acts that might be helpful. I provide support, positive reinforcement, and non-judgment. I want to be a

the counselor you can turn to, trust with your truth, and find within yourself what you need to be at peace in your life.

I believe in utilizing a person-centered approach, cognitive behavioral techniques, mindfulness, and life experience knowledge in a way that is productive for individuals.

I am trained and certified to help individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, addictions,

substance abuse, anger management, grief, and

    loss.

I am a calm, empathetic, and confident person. I like to ask questions that cut through the barriers and start people thinking about what you want to change. I am a veteran, and I have raised a child. I am married. I am a spiritual person. I listen, and I trust you to trust me.

  • Director of Social Work

    jwatts@powerupperformance.org

I am a licensed clinical social worker. My professional experience includes working with populations struggling with substance use and trauma. I also have experience working with those involved in the criminal justice system. I prefer to utilize a client-centered, interpersonal approach in the therapeutic relationship and am trained in EMDR. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Certified Grief Informed Professional, and a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist Candidate.

I prefer to utilize a number of different therapeutic modalities in sessions, such as DBT, CBT, attachment, narrative, etc. I believe in the importance of finding the right coping skills and in the importance of self-care. I also feel it is important to have an interpersonal experience within the therapeutic relationship.

  • Advocate/ Certified Life Coach

    awesterman@powerupperformance.org

I have many layers, and I'm sure you do, too.

We are all beautiful, messy, complex beings who can’t be defined by one or two things alone, and why would we want that anyway?

My top priority is to honor your experience as a full human being and to create safety and trust with you as a client. When you feel safe, you feel curious to explore different ways of being. This is so important for growth and healing.

I have a vast array of tools and techniques to teach you, depending on your strengths, abilities, and preferences.

I am trained in a number of ways to help you feel safe and connect to yourself in your body. I love to do somatics, breathwork, and trance, all with a trauma-informed lens. I’m currently getting certified as a mindfulness meditation facilitator.

Through coaching, you can gain awareness and tools to see beyond your current perspectives. When you step into the driver's seat of your own life, things start to look different!

I will help you rewire your brain (and teach you how to do it yourself, too!) to respond on purpose and intentionally instead of feeling controlled by your emotions and insecurities.

  • Marriage and Family Therapist

    tynea@powerupperformance.org

At the age of 7 years old, Tynea already had an idea of what would become her passion. She found herself choosing to put sleep aside when called on for immediate support. She became a shoulder for everyone to lean on. Tynea has been a catalyst of change for many people. She inspires clients to change their perspective on life and encourages them to explore their feelings. Tynea views everyone as an onion, depending on the different life experiences and trauma they have been through. She believes they dictate the external stimuli of multiple layers.

Tynea aspires to support clients through many avenues including group facilitation, couple and family sessions, and individual therapy. She uses her experience as a Co-occurring counselor to support clients who suffer from both substance abuse disorders and mental health disorders simultaneously. Tynea can offer a different perspective due to her extensive experience as an applied behavior analyst.

The group therapy curriculum includes content about coping skills, generational trauma, self-care/self-worth, processing emotions, anger management, etc. Tynea is aware that life happens and that sometimes we must step back to process what happened or what we felt.

While facilitating groups, she provides an inclusive, non-judgmental, safe space. The groups invite members to be themselves and give support as they process unknown feelings and challenge intrusive thoughts together. She believes everyone should feel encouraged when they explore triggers, analyze childhood trauma, and dive into traumatic experiences.

    Specialties include:

    -Anxiety,

    -Depression,

    -Suicidal ideation and active suicide,

    -Postpartum depression,

Tynea is a huge advocate for the use of journaling and assigning homework. She believes clients can continue therapy even when they are not in session. Tynea will review and process homework if it’s completed and if not, she will help you finish it. Tynea treats all clients with compassionate understanding and the unconditional positive regard that they deserve.

Tynea does not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Tynea prefers to incorporate a toolbox filled with a wealth of knowledge for every individual client. This toolbox includes many different psycho-social interventions, methods, and treatments. She wants you to know that therapy is a process, and no set time frame exists for anyone because everyone heals differently. Tynea does not assume; rather, she dives deep to ensure she explores underlying issues with all clients.

  • jjones@poweruppower

Jesse is a transpersonal counselor. He’s also a father, raft guide, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) survivor, Near Death Experience (NDE) survivor, and passionate seeker of wisdom.

Jesse works well with self-reflective clients with strong emotions and a desire for growth. He specializes in supporting those experiencing identity crises, life changes, existential crises, and spiritual emergence/emergencies.

Transpersonal counseling is spiritually integrated, and person centered. Jesse believes in meeting you where you are, not where anyone else thinks you should be. Spiritually integrated counseling doesn’t teach a specific lineage or path; instead, it focuses on employing counseling skills to help you connect with the direction you already feel drawn towards.

    About you

    • You are driven to help others heal.

    • You have had peak spiritual experiences and want to integrate them into daily life.

    • You yearn to live authentically, in tune with your inner truth.

    • You need support after a TBI or NDE.

    • You want to transform your social grief into personal growth and authentic action.

    • You are facing or initiating significant life changes.

    • You are working to expand and integrate your perception of subtle energies and the spiritual dimensions of life.

    Areas of focus

Spiritual emergency - spiritual emergencies can manifest through various experiences, such as intense dreams, visions, a profound sense of connection with the universe, or even encounters that challenge our usual perception of reality.

Religious deconstruction - Spiritual / Religious transitions can be some of the most difficult Inner journeys. Behind the Inner compulsion to seek your higher truth, Is the part of you that already knows the way.

Global compassion - In a world so full of Injustice, our hearts are breaking. You may may be suffering the empathy you feel for the world, If so, the pain you feel In your heart Is a door way to the part of you that knows how to respond.

Near death experience - An NDE Is like stepping out of the simulation for a moment, then coming back with the ability to remember what happened. NDE's turn our lives upside down. We try to grasp on to who we were before, but the memory of the NDE continues to dissolve our belief In our old reality.

Healer support - Some people just want to watch the world heal, and right now these people are having a hard time because there Is so much pain and there seems to be so little we can do about It. A lot of us feel like It Is our purpose to help others heal and we have no choice

Self-discovery - You learn to stay safe In this world by pleasing others. Then one day you realize you don't know who you are because all you have ever known Is the false self that was given to you by the world.
